The structure of Marina Dorica has been opened on September 2nd 2000 and is the result of the harmonious collaboration between three different company components: a public one predominantly represented by the City Council of Ancona (and with a minor presence of the Ancona Province and of the local Commerce Office) and two private, represented by a local nautical operator (the Ancona Nautiservice Ltd.) and by a consortium of as many as eight yacht clubs and other operators from the sector (Vanvitelli Consortium SpA). The Vanvitelli Consortium, having contributed in greater measure to the works execution, holds even today most part of the shares, but the corporate management has always been collegially maintained, with great balance of interests and shared intent between the partners. Currently there are 1,243 safe and supervised moorings for pleasure boats, of the most various sizes and types, to which are added 240 boats on land yards and the berths reserved for transit.
